Supporting emerging leaders and increasing Latinx civic engagement have long been goals of ULV. There is a critical need for Latinx leaders to run for elected offices and for the mentoring of young leaders who know and trust ULV and have expressed interest in building their skills to engage in and lead campaigns. Towards this end, ULV:
- Reached over 31,000 registered Latinx voters in Contra Costa urging them to vote in the 2024 election
- Has begun four post-election Community Listening Sessions facilitated by one of ULV’s emerging leaders to hear the concerns and needs of Latinx residents at a time when there is a growing backlash against immigrants
- Is increasing focus on emerging leadership in all of its campaigns by contracting with young leaders for community engagement.
