Concepcion “Connie” Trevino James was born in San Antonio Texas and has lived in the bay area for the past 48 years. She retired in October 2018, from a twenty-two-year career with Contra Costa County Health Services at which time she held the title of Health Equity Manager with the Hospital and Health Center Division. During her years with Contra Costa Health Services, her work included: the management of the Bay Point Family Health Center, the development of the Bay Point pediatric dentistry program, the development and implementation of Implicit Bias training for department staff, the stratification of the health department data by race, and ethnicity, oversight of community Promotora, African American and Reentry programs and their embedding into the healthcare delivery system, oversight of the LGBTQ2+ staff annual plan, implementation of a patient social need resource linkage program in partnership with Health Leads USA, and participation in multiple community health partnerships. Before working with the County health department, she spent 13 years managing older adult services for the City of Oakland and Pinole. She is a member of the Contra Costa Crisis Center Board. She is a resident of Brentwood, a city located in far East Contra Costa County. She holds a bachelor’s degree, with honors, from U.C. Berkeley and a master’s degree in Leadership from St. Mary’s College/Moraga. She is the proud mother of four daughters and five grandchildren.
